For those of you not familiar with Ganache, it is defined as a filling or icing made of chocolate and cream. But of course Amy substituted coconut milk for the cream.
Ganache originally was a kind of chocolate truffle. It was introduced by the Paris confectioner Maison Siraudin in about 1862. Ganache was named after a popular French vaudeville comedy by Victorien Sardou named “Les Ganaches.”
So now that you know a little about Ganache, be sure and make these heavenly healthy treats while the weather is still warm and you want something cold and delicious to eat!
Vegan Banana Ganache Popsicles
- Peel and cut the banana midway through. If using nut butter, slice horizontally and spread the nut butter to close again. Add everything for the ganache to a saucepan and whisk until it's completely smooth and thick.
- Dip the bananas in the ganache, lay them on a parchment lined plate that will fit your freezer. Keep adding and spreading the ganache with a spoon until you run out. Pop them in the freezer for an hour or so until solid. Eat right away or allow to defrost a little and eat later!
- Best eaten within 2 weeks out of the freezer.
